Firm History
Founded in Winnipeg in 2019 by principal lawyer Dr. Muhammad Abrar, PhD (Law), A&M Canadian Immigration Law Corporation began as an immigration-only solo practice and has grown into a full-scale firm serving clients across Canada and abroad. From the outset, A&M was built around two pillars:
- Doctoral-level research discipline applied to everyday immigration problems
- Clarity (guidance that strictly avoids false hope).
Today, A&M operates with a team of 15+ professionals, articling students, data analysts, and client-care staff, who deliver end-to-end services spanning temporary permits, permanent residence, family sponsorship, provincial nominations with very detailed MPNP expertise, and litigation including Federal Court judicial review. The firm’s growth has been driven by Dr. Abrar’s Digits Speak method (statistical analysis of draws and policy cycles), meticulous file preparation, and a strong community focus, including free educational programming and accessible virtual consultations for clients in remote Manitoba communities.
Community Commitment
A&M Canadian Immigration Law Corporation was built on access to justice. We try to lower cost and information barriers for newcomers and students by pairing rigorous legal work with free, education and targeted pro bono service, especially for communities outside Winnipeg’s core and clients who would otherwise be overlooked.
How we serve the community
- Pro bono & partnerships: Ongoing support for local community organizations and faith groups; select pro bono files for vulnerable newcomers where impact is highest.
- Free education programs: In-office LSAT and MCAT classes, NCA preparation (Constitutional, Criminal, Evidence, Administrative, Professional Responsibility)
- Public data & videos: Regular, statistics-based updates across Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and Facebook that explain draw trends, program changes, and realistic options, always linked to primary sources and companion articles.
- Real-time updates: A moderated Manitoba Immigration WhatsApp group for draw alerts, policy notes, and event notices, with clear rules to protect privacy and prevent misinformation.
- Rural & remote access: Free Zoom consultations for clients in remote Manitoba communities; flexible hours to accommodate shift workers and students.
- Mentorship & internships: Paid summer internships for high-school students, coaching for university students and early-career professionals, and supervision of articling and junior legal staff.
- Culturally sensitive service: Multicultural, multilingual outreach; clear explanations that respect clients’ backgrounds and circumstances.
- Honest guidance: When the data shows a pathway is not viable, we present the safer option saving families time and money and pointing them to credible alternatives or a better timeline.
