On August 3, 2023, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship
Canada (IRCC) conducted Express Entry Draw #261, specifically targeting
candidates in Trade occupations (Version 1). This draw was part of Canada’s
ongoing efforts to attract skilled tradespeople who can contribute to the
Canadian economy and fill labor shortages in essential sectors.
A total of 1,500 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) were issued to
eligible candidates, with the lowest Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score
being 388. This relatively lower CRS score compared to general draws highlights
the federal government’s focus on welcoming qualified trades workers, even if
their overall CRS score is moderate, reflecting the priority for candidates
with in-demand occupational skills.
A&M Canadian Immigration Law Corporation supports
candidates applying under occupation-specific draws, providing guidance on
eligibility assessment, CRS calculation, and Express Entry application
preparation to ensure a smooth pathway toward Canadian permanent residence for
skilled trades professionals.
