Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)
conducted Express Entry Draw #248 on May 10, 2023, targeting candidates under
the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). A total of 589 Invitations to Apply
(ITAs) were issued in this draw.
The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score
required was 691, which reflects the additional 600 CRS points awarded to
candidates who receive a provincial nomination. As a result, PNP-specific draws
consistently have higher CRS cut-offs compared to all-program draws.
This draw highlights the importance of provincial nomination
pathways, such as the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP), for
candidates with lower core CRS scores who can significantly boost their chances
of receiving an ITA through nomination.
