Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program Draw – May 9, 2024

Manitoba conducted Expression of Interest Draw #218 on May 9, 2024, issuing a total of 371 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) across multiple Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) streams. This draw focused on occupation-specific selections, international graduates, and targeted overseas recruitment to support Manitoba’s labour market needs.

Under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream, candidates currently employed in Manitoba in high-demand occupations were considered. Occupations included supervisors, motor transport and other ground transit operators (NOC 72024), and bus drivers, subway operators, and other transit operators (NOC 73301). A total of 18 LAAs were issued in this occupation-specific selection. Additionally, all eligible Skilled Worker in Manitoba profiles were considered, resulting in 242 LAAs with the lowest-ranked candidate scoring 836.

The International Education Stream invited 76 candidates who met eligibility requirements, reinforcing Manitoba’s strategy to retain international graduates who have gained professional experience and are contributing to the provincial economy.

For the Skilled Worker Overseas stream, 35 candidates were invited under a strategic recruitment initiative, with the lowest-ranked candidate scoring 698. These invitations help Manitoba employers address targeted labour shortages.

Of the 371 LAAs issued in this draw, 66 were granted to candidates who declared a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code, providing a direct pathway from provincial nomination to federal permanent residence.

This draw demonstrates Manitoba’s continued commitment to aligning immigration selections with labour market priorities while offering opportunities to both local and overseas skilled workers.
