PNP Draw Issues 636 ITAs with CRS Cut-Off of 752
On June 22, 2022, IRCC held Express Entry Draw #225, once
again focusing exclusively on candidates under the Provincial Nominee Program
(PNP). In this round, 636 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) were issued, and the
minimum CRS score required was 752.
This draw marked a steady continuation of provincial-led
selections through mid-2022. Although the number of ITAs was slightly higher
than in the previous round, the CRS cut-off remained firmly in the expected
range for PNP-specific draws—reflecting the automatic 600-point CRS boost that
all nominated candidates receive.
Draw 225 confirmed that provinces were continuing to play a
central role in Canada’s immigration strategy. Rather than relying solely on
general Express Entry draws, IRCC leaned on provincial governments to identify
skilled workers who matched regional labor market needs.
Candidates invited in this round were likely working in
occupations where provinces were experiencing shortages, such as healthcare,
skilled trades, IT, transportation, and community services.
For many skilled workers, this draw reinforced a powerful
lesson: a provincial nomination can be the turning point in your Canadian
immigration journey.
