On September 13, 2024, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship
Canada (IRCC) held Express Entry Draw #314, issuing 1,000 Invitations to Apply
(ITAs) under the French language proficiency category. The minimum CRS score
required for this draw was 446, continuing the trend of regular French-language
category-based selections.
French proficiency remains a strong advantage within the
Express Entry system, particularly for candidates aiming to settle outside
Quebec. With a CRS cut-off of 446, this draw once again demonstrates how
language ability can significantly improve an applicant’s chances of receiving
an Invitation to Apply compared to many general rounds.
For applicants who meet the French language requirements,
category-based draws continue to offer a focused and strategic pathway to
Canadian permanent residency.
