Manitoba conducted Expression of Interest Draw #182 on June
15, 2023, issuing a total of 540 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) under the
Skilled Worker in Manitoba, International Education Stream, and Skilled Worker
Overseas streams.
Under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream, 255 candidates in occupation-specific selections were invited. Eligible profiles included
those currently employed in Manitoba in occupations identified with high labour
needs based on Statistics Canada data. The National Occupational Classification
(NOC) 2021 major and sub-major groups considered were 72 – Technical trades and
transportation officers and controllers, 731 – General construction trades, 732
– Building maintenance installers, servicers and repairers, and 734 –
Operators, drillers and blasters. All other eligible profiles not selected in
the occupation-specific stream were also considered, with 205 LAAs issued. The
lowest-ranked candidates scored 602 in the occupation-specific selection and
665 in the general pool.
The International Education Stream issued 59 LAAs to
candidates meeting the eligibility requirements, supporting international
graduates contributing to Manitoba’s workforce.
For the Skilled Worker Overseas stream, 21 candidates were
invited under strategic recruitment initiatives, with the lowest-ranked
candidate scoring 718.
Of the 540 LAAs issued in this draw, 187 were granted to
candidates who declared a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker
validation code, providing a pathway from provincial nomination to federal
permanent residence.
