The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) conducted
Expression of Interest (EOI) Draw #45 on May 31, 2018, issuing a total of 502
Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) to candidates across the Skilled Worker in
Manitoba and Skilled Worker Overseas streams. This draw continued Manitoba’s
targeted immigration strategy aimed at selecting skilled individuals who can
contribute to the province’s labour market and economic development.
Skilled Worker in Manitoba
Under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream, 187 candidates
received invitations to apply for provincial nomination.
Lowest score invited: 485
This pathway prioritizes individuals who are already working
in Manitoba and have demonstrated their ability to integrate into the local
labour market. Candidates with consistent employment, relevant work experience,
and strong language proficiency often achieve higher rankings within the
Expression of Interest system.
Skilled Worker Overseas – Strategic
Recruitment
The Skilled Worker Overseas stream issued 53 invitations to
candidates who had been directly invited by the MPNP through strategic
recruitment initiatives.
Lowest score invited: 698
These candidates were typically identified through targeted
recruitment activities organized by Manitoba to attract skilled professionals
with qualifications that align with the province’s labour market needs.
Skilled Worker Overseas – Manitoba
Connections
An additional 262 invitations were issued to overseas
applicants who demonstrated strong connections to Manitoba, such as having a
close family member in the province or previous study or work experience in
Manitoba.
Lowest score invited: 584
Candidates invited under this category were required to have at least six months of recent work experience in an occupation listed on Manitoba’s In-Demand Occupations List. Language requirements generally included a minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 5, while regulated occupations required at least CLB 7 and compulsory trades required CLB 6.
EOI Draw #45 reflected Manitoba’s continued focus on
selecting candidates with strong potential to succeed in the provincial labour
market. By inviting skilled workers already employed in Manitoba as well as
overseas applicants with relevant experience and connections to the province,
the program continues to support workforce needs through strategic immigration
selection. Monitoring draw results, score thresholds, and program requirements
remains important for candidates planning to apply through the Manitoba
Provincial Nominee Program.
