On February 14,
2024, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held Express Entry
Draw #284, issuing 3,500 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) under the healthcare
occupations category. This was the first healthcare-focused category-based draw
of 2024, emphasizing Canada’s continued demand for qualified professionals in
the medical and health services sectors. The minimum CRS score required for
this round was 422.
Healthcare
category draws are designed to address Canada’s labour shortages in vital roles
such as nursing, medical technology, clinical support, and other essential
health-related occupations. With a CRS cut-off of 422, eligible candidates with
healthcare experience had a strong chance of receiving an invitation compared
to general draws with higher thresholds.
For those
working in healthcare and planning to pursue Canadian immigration,
category-based draws continue to offer valuable opportunities aligned with
Canada’s workforce priorities.
