On May 30, 2024, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship
Canada (IRCC) held Express Entry Draw #296, issuing 2,985 Invitations to Apply
(ITAs) under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). The minimum CRS score
required for this draw was 676, reflecting the significant boost that a
provincial nomination adds to an applicant’s Express Entry profile.
PNP-targeted draws continue to play an important role in
supporting Canada’s labour market needs at the provincial and territorial
levels. Candidates who receive a provincial nomination automatically gain an
additional 600 CRS points, which is why cut-off scores for PNP draws are
consistently higher than general or category-based rounds.
For individuals already nominated by a province, this draw
offered a strong opportunity to receive an ITA and move forward with their
permanent residency application.
