The
Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) conducted Expression of Interest
(EOI) Draw #100 on October 8, 2020, issuing a total of 191 Letters of Advice to
Apply (LAAs) across its primary immigration pathways. Marking a milestone 100th
draw, Manitoba continued its targeted selection of skilled workers and
international graduates aligned with provincial labour market needs.
Skilled Worker in Manitoba
The Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream received the majority
of invitations in Draw #100, with 152 candidates invited.
Lowest-ranked candidate invited: 528
The higher cutoff score reflected increased competition among in-province
applicants. Candidates with strong employment stability, high language
proficiency scores, and well-optimized Expression of Interest (EOI) profiles
were better positioned to secure invitations in this round.
International Education Stream
Under the International Education Stream (IES), 25 Letters
of Advice to Apply were issued to eligible Manitoba graduates.
This stream does not operate on a points-based ranking
system. Instead, candidates must meet specific eligibility requirements,
including graduation from an approved Manitoba post-secondary institution and
securing qualifying employment. Careful documentation and strict compliance
with program guidelines remain essential for nomination approval.
Skilled Worker Overseas
The Skilled Worker Overseas stream issued 14 invitations in
this draw.
Lowest-ranked candidate invited: 611
The comparatively lower cutoff score indicated a broader
selection of overseas candidates compared to some previous draws. Successful
applicants typically demonstrate strong education credentials, relevant skilled
work experience, language proficiency, and credible connections to Manitoba
that align with provincial economic priorities.
Of the 191 LAAs issued, 20 were granted to candidates who
declared a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code.
Candidates aligned with the federal Express Entry system
benefit from faster permanent residence processing after provincial nomination.
A Manitoba nomination provides an additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System
(CRS) points, significantly increasing the likelihood of receiving an
Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence.
Expression of Interest Draw #100 demonstrated Manitoba’s
continued commitment to supporting skilled workers already contributing to the
province’s economy while maintaining strategic overseas recruitment. Monitoring
MPNP draw trends, ranking scores, and stream allocations remains essential for
prospective immigrants planning their pathway through the Manitoba Provincial
Nominee Program.
