Manitoba PNP Expression of Interest Draw #44

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) held Expression of Interest (EOI) Draw #44 on May 11, 2018, issuing a total of 626 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) to candidates across several immigration streams. Invitations were distributed through the Skilled Worker in Manitoba, Skilled Worker Overseas, and Express Entry sub-stream, demonstrating Manitoba’s continued efforts to attract skilled individuals who can support the province’s labour market and economic growth.

Skilled Worker in Manitoba

Under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream, 267 candidates were invited to apply for provincial nomination.

Lowest score invited: 500
This pathway prioritizes individuals who are already working in Manitoba and have established employment relationships with local employers. Applicants with steady employment, relevant experience, and strong language proficiency tend to achieve higher rankings in the Expression of Interest pool.

Skilled Worker Overseas – Strategic Recruitment

Through the Skilled Worker Overseas stream, 99 invitations were issued to candidates who had been directly invited by the MPNP through strategic recruitment initiatives.

Lowest score invited: 706

These candidates were typically identified through targeted recruitment efforts aimed at attracting skilled professionals whose qualifications align with Manitoba’s workforce needs.

Skilled Worker Overseas – Manitoba Connections

An additional 109 invitations were issued to overseas applicants who demonstrated strong ties to Manitoba, such as having a close relative living in the province or previous education or work experience in Manitoba.

Lowest score invited: 602

Candidates invited under this category were required to have at least six months of recent work experience in an occupation listed on Manitoba’s In-Demand Occupations List. Language requirements generally included a minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 5, although higher scores were necessary for certain occupations. Regulated professions typically required CLB 7, while compulsory trades required CLB 6.

Express Entry Sub-Stream

Through the Express Entry sub-stream, 151 LAAs were issued to candidates with a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code.

Lowest score invited: 562

Applicants in this category were also required to demonstrate recent work experience in an occupation on Manitoba’s In-Demand Occupations List. Candidates nominated through this pathway benefit from the federal Express Entry system, receiving 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points, which significantly increases their chances of obtaining an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence.

EOI Draw #44 continued Manitoba’s strategic approach to selecting skilled immigrants from both within the province and abroad. By inviting candidates through multiple streams—including in-province workers, overseas applicants with connections to Manitoba, and Express Entry candidates—the program aims to address labour shortages and strengthen the provincial workforce. Monitoring draw results, score trends, and eligibility requirements remains important for individuals planning their pathway through the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program.
