The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) conducted
Expression of Interest (EOI) Draw #51 on September 28, 2018, issuing a total of
392 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) across multiple immigration streams.
Invitations were distributed through the Skilled Worker in Manitoba, Skilled
Worker Overseas – Strategic Recruitment, and Skilled Worker Overseas – Manitoba
Connections pathways, demonstrating Manitoba’s ongoing focus on attracting
skilled candidates who can meet provincial labour market needs.
Skilled Worker in Manitoba
Under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream, 201 candidates
received invitations to apply for provincial nomination.
Lowest score invited: 679
This stream prioritizes applicants who are already employed
in Manitoba. Candidates with stable employment, relevant work experience, and
strong language skills generally rank higher in the Expression of Interest
pool.
Skilled Worker Overseas – Strategic
Recruitment
The Skilled Worker Overseas – Strategic Recruitment stream
issued 31 invitations to candidates who had been directly invited by the MPNP.
Lowest score invited: 713
These candidates were selected through targeted recruitment
initiatives aimed at skilled professionals outside Canada whose qualifications
and experience align with Manitoba’s workforce priorities.
Skilled Worker Overseas – Manitoba
Connections
An additional 160 invitations were issued to overseas
applicants who demonstrated strong connections to Manitoba, such as having a
close relative in the province or prior study or work experience in Manitoba.
Lowest score invited: 592
To qualify under this pathway, candidates were required to
have at least six months of recent experience in an occupation listed on
Manitoba’s In-Demand Occupations List. Language requirements generally included
minimum CLB 5, while higher benchmarks were required for certain professions-
CLB 7 for regulated occupations and CLB 6 for compulsory trades.
EOI Draw #51 continued Manitoba’s multi-stream approach to selecting skilled immigrants. By inviting candidates already employed in the province as well as overseas applicants with relevant experience and connections, the program supports labour market needs while strengthening Manitoba’s workforce. Keeping track of draw results, score trends, and eligibility requirements remains important for prospective applicants under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program.
