The
Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) conducted Expression of Interest
(EOI) Draw #98 on September 10, 2020, issuing a total of 212 Letters of Advice
to Apply (LAAs) to candidates across its key immigration streams. The latest
Manitoba PNP draw continued to prioritize skilled workers already established
in the province while maintaining selective invitations for overseas
applicants.
Skilled Worker in Manitoba
The Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream received the largest
allocation of invitations in Draw #98, with 168 candidates invited.
● Lowest-ranked
candidate invited: 450
The lower cutoff score compared to some previous draws
suggested slightly reduced competition among in-province applicants. Candidates
with stable employment in Manitoba, competitive language scores, and complete
Expression of Interest (EOI) profiles remained well-positioned to receive
invitations.
International Education Stream
Under the International Education Stream (IES), 35 Letters
of Advice to Apply were issued to eligible Manitoba graduates.
This stream does not operate under a points-based ranking
system. Instead, candidates must meet specific eligibility criteria, including
completion of an approved Manitoba post-secondary program and securing
qualifying employment. Accurate documentation and adherence to program
requirements remain critical for successful nomination.
Skilled Worker Overseas
The Skilled Worker Overseas stream issued 9 invitations in
this round.
● Lowest-ranked
candidate invited: 719
The relatively high cutoff score reflected Manitoba’s
selective approach to overseas recruitment. Successful candidates typically
demonstrate strong education credentials, relevant skilled work experience,
language proficiency, and credible connections to Manitoba that align with
provincial labour market needs.
Of the 212 LAAs issued, 22 were granted to candidates who
declared a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code.
Candidates aligned with the federal Express Entry system
benefit from faster permanent residence processing following provincial
nomination. A Manitoba nomination provides an additional 600 Comprehensive
Ranking System (CRS) points, significantly improving the chances of receiving
an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence.
Expression of Interest Draw #98 demonstrated Manitoba’s
continued emphasis on supporting skilled workers already contributing to the
provincial economy, while maintaining a competitive and targeted approach to
overseas selection. Tracking Manitoba PNP draw trends and cutoff scores remains
essential for candidates preparing their immigration strategy under the
Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program.
