Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program Draw –January 11, 2024

Manitoba conducted its first Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) draw of 2024, issuing a total of 423 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) across multiple immigration streams. This draw reflects Manitoba’s continued focus on supporting skilled workers, international graduates, and candidates with strong connections to the province.

Under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream, candidates who declared a Manitoba supporter who is a close relative were selected. These supporters were required to be Canadian permanent residents or citizens, established residents of Manitoba, and living in the province for at least one year. A total of 168 LAAs were issued in this category, with the lowest-ranked candidate scoring 607.

Another Skilled Worker in Manitoba selection considered all eligible profiles, resulting in 166 LAAs being issued. The minimum ranking score for this group was 823, indicating strong competition among in-province applicants.

The International Education Stream also saw invitations issued to graduates who met program eligibility requirements. In this category, 58 candidates received LAAs, highlighting Manitoba’s ongoing commitment to retaining international students.

For the Skilled Worker Overseas stream, 31 candidates were invited under a strategic recruitment initiative, with the lowest-ranked candidate scoring 639. This stream continues to support Manitoba employers in addressing targeted labour market needs.

Notably, of the 423 LAAs issued in this draw, 73 were granted to candidates who declared a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code, strengthening the pathway from Manitoba nomination to federal permanent residence.

This first MPNP draw of 2024 demonstrates Manitoba’s balanced approach to provincial immigration, prioritizing local connections, education in Manitoba, and employer-driven recruitment.
