Manitoba conducted Special Immigration Measure – Ukraine
Draw #22 on January 30, 2024, issuing 117 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). This draw was part of
Manitoba’s continued response to the ongoing situation in Ukraine.
In alignment with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship
Canada’s special immigration measures, this draw focused on individuals
affected by the situation in Ukraine who meet all MPNP eligibility
requirements. The initiative reflects Manitoba’s humanitarian approach while
supporting eligible applicants seeking stability and long-term settlement in
the province.
The Manitoba government has confirmed that similar
Expression of Interest draws will continue to be conducted regularly for
candidates impacted by events in Ukraine, provided they meet the program’s
eligibility criteria. These draws offer an important pathway to permanent
residence for those facing displacement while also contributing to Manitoba’s
labour market and communities.
This special measure highlights Manitoba’s commitment to
humanitarian immigration alongside its economic immigration priorities.
