Manitoba conducted Expression of Interest Draw #181 on June
1, 2023, issuing a total of 589 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) under the
Skilled Worker in Manitoba, International Education Stream, and Skilled Worker
Overseas streams.
Under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream, 262 candidates in occupation-specific selections were invited. Eligible profiles included
those currently employed in Manitoba in occupations identified with high labour
needs based on Statistics Canada data. The National Occupational Classification
(NOC) 2021 major groups considered were 11 – Professional occupations in
finance and business, 13 – Administrative occupations and transportation
logistics occupations, 21 – Professional occupations in natural and applied
sciences, 42 – Front-line public protection services and paraprofessional
occupations in legal, social, and community services, and 44 – Care providers
and legal and public protection support occupations. All other eligible
profiles not selected in the occupation-specific stream were also considered,
with 240 LAAs issued. The lowest-ranked candidates scored 607 in the
occupation-specific selection and 669 in the general pool.
The International Education Stream issued 56 LAAs to
candidates meeting the eligibility requirements, supporting international
graduates contributing to Manitoba’s workforce.
For the Skilled Worker Overseas stream, 31 candidates were
invited under strategic recruitment initiatives, with the lowest-ranked
candidate scoring 801.
Of the 589 LAAs issued in this draw, 214 were granted to
candidates who declared a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker
validation code, providing a pathway from provincial nomination to federal
permanent residence.
