Manitoba conducted Expression of Interest Draw #229 on
September 27, 2024, issuing a total of 348 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). This draw focused on
international graduates and skilled workers overseas, supporting Manitoba’s
labour market and immigration priorities.
Under the International Education Stream, 269 candidates who
met eligibility requirements were invited, reflecting Manitoba’s commitment to
retaining international graduates who contribute to the province’s workforce
and economy.
For the Skilled Worker Overseas stream, 79 candidates were
selected under a strategic recruitment initiative, with the lowest-ranked
candidate scoring 582. These invitations help Manitoba employers attract
skilled professionals from outside the province to fill targeted labour
shortages.
Of the 348 LAAs issued in this draw, 56 were granted to
candidates who declared a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker
validation code, providing a pathway from provincial nomination to federal
permanent residence.
This draw demonstrates Manitoba’s strategic approach to
immigration, combining retention of international talent with overseas
recruitment to meet provincial workforce needs.
