The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) conducted Expression of Interest Draw #91 on June 4, 2020, issuing a total of 124 Letters
of Advice to Apply (LAAs) across multiple immigration streams. This draw
reflected Manitoba’s ongoing focus on selecting candidates with strong
potential to contribute to the province’s labour market during a period of
gradual reopening.
Under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream, 84 candidates received Letters of Advice to Apply, with the lowest-ranked candidate invited
having a score of 523. The cutoff score indicated healthy competition among
in-province applicants, emphasizing the importance of stable employment, strong
language skills, and well-prepared Expression of Interest profiles.
The International Education Stream accounted for 19
invitations, offering opportunities to eligible Manitoba graduates who met
employment and program requirements. While this stream does not operate on a
ranking score system, strict compliance with eligibility criteria and thorough
documentation remained critical for successful nomination.
Under the Skilled Worker Overseas stream, 21 candidates were
invited, with the lowest-ranked candidate having a score of 703. The high
cutoff score reflected the competitive nature of overseas selection, where
strong human capital factors, occupation alignment with provincial demand, and
credible provincial connections were key to receiving an invitation.
Of the 124 Letters of Advice to Apply issued in Draw #91, 9
were granted to candidates who declared a valid Express Entry profile number
and job seeker validation code. Express Entry-aligned nominations offered
selected applicants faster federal processing and a streamlined pathway to
permanent residence.
Expression of Interest Draw #91 demonstrated Manitoba’s
structured and competitive approach to provincial nominations in mid-2020,
balancing in-province skilled worker support with selective overseas
recruitment. Monitoring ranking score trends remained important for candidates
preparing for future draws.
