St-Pierre-Jolys,
Manitoba has unveiled its list of priority sectors and occupations for 2026, as
mandated by the Francophone Community Immigration Pilot (FCIP), the
program designed to bring French-language newcomers to rural and northern
communities. These communities are playing an increasingly pivotal role in
francophone immigration outside Québec.
Priority
Sectors and In-Demand Occupations
In 2026, six priority sectors have been chosen:
- Health;
- Education, law and social services;
- Sales and services;
- Business, finance and administration;
- Trades and transport;
- Natural resources and agriculture.
The sector
listed above are in order of priority, with
“Education, law and social services” and “Sales and services” being of equal
priority.
A total of 25
occupations is being targeted this year, from cooks to administrative
assistants to early childhood educators to welders to nurse aides.
Eligibility Requirements and Application Process
In order to be eligible for permanent residence
under the FCIP, candidates must have a job offer in hand from a designated
employer (located in St-Pierre-Jolys) and meet the minimum French-language
requirement.
They must also satisfy requirements for work experience, education and settlement funds.
Eligibility is calculated using a points grid. Candidates who
are selected receive a recommendation certificate before applying to IRCC for
permanent residence.
Because of the job offer requirement and the competitiveness of the process, A&M Canadian Immigration Law Corporation can help candidates ensure their eligibility, submit a successful application, and navigate each step of the FCIP process.
