PNP Draw Issues 924 ITAs with CRS Cut-Off of 754
On March 16, 2022, IRCC held Express Entry Draw #218,
focusing exclusively on Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates. In this
round, 924 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) were issued, with the lowest CRS score
required set at 754.
This draw continued the consistent pattern of
provincial-focused selections in early 2022. With nearly a thousand ITAs
issued, it demonstrated how provinces were actively nominating candidates to
meet regional labor market needs.
The CRS cut-off of 754 is consistent with PNP-specific
rounds, as candidates automatically receive 600 additional CRS points for a
provincial nomination. This allows applicants with moderate core CRS scores to
become highly competitive, highlighting the strategic advantage of provincial
nominations.
Candidates were likely selected from high-demand sectors
such as healthcare, technology, and skilled trades. Provincial nominations
continued to offer a fast-track route to permanent residence. This round
reinforced the growing importance of PNP pathways in early 2022, as general
draws alone would have required much higher CRS scores.
For applicants, this draw emphasizes that provincial
nominations are a crucial pathway for those aiming to secure Canadian permanent
residence, particularly for candidates with strong qualifications but moderate
CRS scores.
At A&M Canadian Immigration Law Corporation, we support
candidates by preparing strong nomination applications for faster PR.
