All-Program
Draw Issues 1,750 ITAs with CRS Cut-Off of 542
On July 20,
2022, IRCC held Express Entry Draw #227, continuing with All-Program
invitations for the second time in 2022. In this round, 1,750 Invitations to
Apply (ITAs) were issued, and the minimum CRS score dropped to 542.
This draw was a
strong follow-up to Draw #226 and showed that IRCC was gradually expanding the
number of candidates invited while also allowing the CRS cut-off to ease. After
months of PNP-only selections, this was excellent news for Federal Skilled Worker (FSW), Canadian Experience Class (CEC), and Federal Skilled Trades (FST)
candidates who had been waiting in the pool.
The number of
ITAs increased from 1,500 to 1,750 and CRS dropped by 15 points compared to the
previous All-Program draw.
This draw confirmed that IRCC was slowly
reopening Express Entry to a wider range of skilled workers. Candidates without
provincial nominations could once again compete fairly, based on language,
education, work experience, and adaptability.
For many applicants, this draw renewed hope that CRS scores would continue to trend downward as more rounds were held.
Draw 227 showed
that Canada’s Express Entry system was stabilizing again, and opportunities for skilled workers were
returning in full force.
