Canada conducted Express Entry Draw #242 on March 1, 2023,
issuing a total of 667 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for permanent residence
under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). Candidates invited in this round
required a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 748, which
reflects the strong advantage given to applicants who hold a provincial
nomination.
The Provincial Nominee Program enables provinces and
territories across Canada to select skilled workers who meet specific regional
labour market needs. A successful provincial nomination adds 600 points to a
candidate’s CRS score, making PNP draws highly competitive but also one of the
most reliable pathways to permanent residence for eligible applicants.
This draw highlights the continued importance of provincial
nominations within Canada’s immigration system, especially for candidates whose
CRS scores may be lower under federal programs alone but who are in demand at
the provincial level.
A&M Canadian Immigration Law Corporation supports
Express Entry and PNP candidates by evaluating eligibility, guiding applicants
through nomination streams, and ensuring applications are accurately prepared
to improve the chances of receiving an ITA and achieving Canadian permanent
residence.
