The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) held Expression of Interest (EOI) Draw #101 on October 22, 2020, issuing a total of 206 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) across its key immigration streams. The
latest Manitoba PNP draw demonstrated a strong focus on in-province skilled
workers while maintaining selective invitations for overseas applicants.
Skilled Worker in Manitoba
The Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream accounted for the
majority of invitations in Draw #101, with 161 candidates invited.
Lowest-ranked candidate invited: 375
The notably lower cutoff score indicated reduced competition among in-province
applicants compared to previous rounds. Candidates with stable employment in
Manitoba, solid language test results, and complete Expression of Interest
(EOI) profiles benefited from this more accessible threshold.
International Education Stream
Under the International Education Stream (IES), 30 Letters
of Advice to Apply were issued to eligible Manitoba graduates.
This stream does not use a ranking-based scoring system. Instead, candidates
must meet defined eligibility criteria, including completion of an approved
Manitoba post-secondary program and obtaining qualifying employment. Accurate
documentation and compliance with program guidelines remain essential for
nomination approval.
Skilled Worker Overseas
The Skilled Worker Overseas stream issued 15 invitations in
this round.
Lowest-ranked candidate invited: 771
The high cutoff score reflected the competitive and targeted
nature of overseas selections. Successful candidates typically demonstrated
strong education credentials, skilled work experience, language proficiency,
and credible connections to Manitoba aligned with the province’s labour market
priorities.
Of the 206 LAAs issued, 22 were granted to candidates who
declared a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code.
Candidates aligned with the federal Express Entry system
benefit from accelerated processing after receiving a provincial nomination. A
Manitoba nomination provides an additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System
(CRS) points, significantly improving the likelihood of receiving an Invitation
to Apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence.
Expression of Interest Draw #101 highlighted Manitoba’s flexible and strategic
selection approach, offering broader opportunities to in-province skilled
workers while maintaining stringent standards for overseas applicants.
Monitoring MPNP draw trends, ranking scores, and stream allocations remains
essential for candidates planning their immigration strategy under the Manitoba
Provincial Nominee Program.
