The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) conducted Expression of Interest (EOI) Draw #105 on December 30, 2020, issuing a total of
188 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) across its primary immigration streams.
This year-end draw reflected Manitoba’s continued focus on skilled workers and
international graduates capable of contributing to the province’s labour
market.
Skilled Worker in Manitoba
The Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream issued 157 invitations
in Draw #105.
Lowest-ranked candidate invited: 461
The cutoff score indicated moderate competition among
in-province applicants. Candidates with stable employment, strong language
proficiency, and well-prepared Expression of Interest (EOI) profiles were more
likely to secure invitations under this stream.
International Education Stream
Under the International Education Stream (IES), 18 Letters
of Advice to Apply were issued to eligible Manitoba graduates.
This stream does not rely on a ranking-based system.
Applicants must meet strict eligibility requirements, including graduation from
an approved Manitoba post-secondary institution and holding qualifying
employment. Careful documentation and adherence to program criteria remain
essential for successful nomination.
Skilled Worker Overseas
The Skilled Worker Overseas stream issued 13 invitations in
this round.
Lowest-ranked candidate invited: 718
The competitive cutoff score reflected Manitoba’s selective
approach to overseas recruitment. Successful candidates typically demonstrate
strong education credentials, skilled work experience, high language
proficiency, and credible connections to Manitoba aligned with the province’s
labour market needs.
Of the 188 LAAs issued, 13 were granted to
candidates who declared a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker
validation code.
Express Entry-aligned applicants benefit from accelerated
federal processing after receiving a provincial nomination. Manitoba
nominations add 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points, greatly
improving the likelihood of receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian
permanent residence.
Expression of Interest Draw #105 underscored Manitoba’s
ongoing strategy of supporting skilled workers already contributing to the
provincial economy while maintaining selective overseas recruitment. Monitoring
MPNP draw trends, cutoff scores, and stream allocations remains critical for
prospective candidates planning their immigration pathway through the Manitoba
Provincial Nominee Program.
