Manitoba PNP Expression of Interest Draw #41

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) conducted Expression of Interest (EOI) Draw #41 on February 26, 2018, issuing a total of 481 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) to eligible candidates. Invitations were distributed across the Skilled Worker in Manitoba and Skilled Worker Overseas pathways. As the only MPNP draw held in February 2018, this round reflected the province’s ongoing efforts to select skilled individuals who can contribute to Manitoba’s labour market.

Skilled Worker in Manitoba

Through the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream, 283 candidates received invitations to apply for provincial nomination.

Lowest score invited: 489

This stream focuses on individuals who are already working in Manitoba and have established employment relationships with local employers. Candidates with steady jobs, relevant work experience, and strong language abilities generally perform better in the Expression of Interest ranking system.

Skilled Worker Overseas – Strategic Recruitment

The Skilled Worker Overseas stream issued 44 invitations to candidates who had been directly invited by the MPNP through strategic recruitment initiatives.

Lowest score invited: 695

These candidates were typically selected through recruitment activities or information sessions organized by Manitoba to attract skilled professionals from outside Canada whose qualifications align with provincial labour market needs.

Skilled Worker Overseas – Manitoba Connections

An additional 154 invitations were issued to overseas applicants who demonstrated strong connections to Manitoba, such as having close family members in the province or previous study or work experience in Manitoba.

Lowest score invited: 599

Eligible candidates were required to have at least six months of recent experience in an occupation listed on Manitoba’s In-Demand Occupations List. Language requirements included a minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 5, although higher levels were required for certain occupations. Regulated professions generally required CLB 7, while compulsory trades required CLB 6.

As the only MPNP draw conducted in February 2018, EOI Draw #41 continued Manitoba’s strategy of inviting candidates who can help meet labour market demands. By prioritizing skilled workers already in the province as well as overseas candidates with relevant experience and Manitoba connections, the program maintains a balanced and targeted immigration selection process. Prospective applicants should continue monitoring draw results, cutoff scores, and eligibility requirements to better prepare for opportunities under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program.
