Manitoba conducted Expression of Interest Draw #166 on
January 26, 2023, issuing a total of 336 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program. This draw continued the
province’s focus on supporting in-province workers, retaining international
graduates, and meeting labour market needs through overseas recruitment.
Under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream, 253 candidates were invited, with the lowest-ranked candidate scoring 726. This highlights
Manitoba’s ongoing priority to nominate individuals who are already working and
contributing to the provincial economy.
The International Education Stream issued 60 LAAs to
eligible international graduates, reinforcing Manitoba’s strategy to retain
skilled individuals educated within the province.
Through the Skilled Worker Overseas stream, 23 candidates
received LAAs, with the lowest-ranked candidate invited having a score of 713.
These invitations supported targeted recruitment efforts to address specific
workforce demands from outside Canada.
Of the 336 LAAs issued in this draw, 32 were granted to
candidates who declared a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker
validation code, providing a streamlined pathway from provincial nomination to
permanent residence.
This draw reflects Manitoba’s consistent and balanced
immigration approach early in 2023, combining local retention with strategic
international selection.
