Manitoba conducted Expression of Interest Draw #173 on March
23, 2023, issuing a total of 566 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) across
multiple streams.
Under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream, 266 candidates in occupation-specific selections were invited. Profiles declaring current
employment in Manitoba in occupations with high labour needs, based on
Statistics Canada data, were considered. The occupations included technical
trades and transportation officers and controllers (NOC 72), mail and message
distribution and related transport operators (NOC 74), helpers and labourers
and other transport drivers, operators and labourers (NOC 75), machine operators,
assemblers and inspectors in processing, manufacturing and printing (NOC 94),
and labourers in processing, manufacturing, and utilities (NOC 95). The
lowest-ranked candidate in this stream scored 612.
For all other Skilled Worker in Manitoba profiles not
selected under occupation-specific criteria, 200 candidates were invited, with
the lowest score of 672.
The International Education Stream issued 52 LAAs to
eligible candidates, supporting the retention of international graduates
contributing to Manitoba’s workforce and economy.
The Skilled Worker Overseas stream invited 48 candidates under a strategic recruitment initiative, with the lowest-ranked candidate
scoring 708, helping Manitoba address targeted labour shortages.
Of the 566 LAAs issued in this draw, 82 were granted to
candidates who declared a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker
validation code, offering a pathway from provincial nomination to federal
permanent residence.
