Manitoba conducted Expression of Interest Draw #178 on May
4, 2023, issuing a total of 539 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) across the
Skilled Worker in Manitoba, International Education Stream, and Skilled Worker
Overseas streams.
Under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream, 252 candidates were invited through occupation-specific selections. Eligible profiles included
those currently employed in Manitoba in occupations identified with high labour
needs based on Statistics Canada data. The National Occupational Classification
(NOC) 2021 major groups considered were 12 – Administrative and financial
supervisors and specialized administrative occupations, 22 – Technical
occupations related to natural and applied sciences, and 70 – Middle management
occupations in trades and transportation. All other eligible profiles not
selected in the occupation-specific stream were also considered, with 199 LAAs
issued. The lowest-ranked candidates scored 606 in the occupation-specific
selection and 650 in the general pool.
The International Education Stream issued 39 LAAs to
candidates meeting the eligibility requirements, supporting international
graduates contributing to Manitoba’s workforce.
For the Skilled Worker Overseas stream, 49 candidates were
invited under strategic recruitment initiatives, with the lowest-ranked
candidate scoring 699.
Of the 539 LAAs issued in this draw, 204 were granted to
candidates who declared a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker
validation code, providing a pathway from provincial nomination to federal
permanent residence.
