The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) conducted Expression of Interest Draw #94 on July 16, 2020, issuing a total of 174
Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) across multiple immigration streams. This
draw highlighted Manitoba’s continued focus on selecting skilled candidates who
could contribute effectively to the province’s labour market.
Under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream, 134 candidates received Letters of Advice to Apply, with the lowest-ranked candidate invited
having a score of 430. The cutoff score indicated moderate competition among
in-province applicants, underscoring the importance of stable employment,
strong language proficiency, and well-prepared Expression of Interest profiles.
The International Education Stream accounted for 29
invitations, offering opportunities for eligible Manitoba graduates who met
employment and program criteria. While this stream does not rely on a ranking
score system, strict compliance with eligibility requirements and proper
documentation remained essential for successful nomination.
Under the Skilled Worker Overseas stream, 11 candidates were
invited, with the lowest-ranked candidate having a score of 811. The high
cutoff score reflected the competitive and limited nature of overseas
invitations, where strong human capital factors, occupational alignment with
provincial demand, and credible provincial connections were critical for
success.
Of the 174 Letters of Advice to Apply issued in Draw #94, 18 were granted to candidates who declared a valid Express Entry profile number
and job seeker validation code. Express Entry-aligned nominations provided
selected applicants with faster federal processing and a streamlined pathway to
permanent residence.
Expression of Interest Draw #94 demonstrated Manitoba’s selective and structured provincial nomination approach in mid-2020, balancing support for in-province skilled workers with highly targeted overseas recruitment. Tracking ranking score trends remained important for prospective candidates preparing for future draws.
