The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) conducted Expression of Interest Draw #93 on July 2, 2020, issuing a total of 125 Letters
of Advice to Apply (LAAs) across multiple immigration streams. This draw
reflected Manitoba’s continued focus on selecting candidates who could
contribute effectively to the province’s labour market while maintaining a
competitive and structured process.
Under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream, 101 candidates received Letters of Advice to Apply, with the lowest-ranked candidate invited
having a score of 475. The cutoff score indicated moderate competition among
in-province applicants, emphasizing the importance of stable employment, strong
language proficiency, and carefully prepared Expression of Interest profiles.
The International Education Stream accounted for 18
invitations, providing opportunities for eligible Manitoba graduates who met
program and employment requirements. While this stream does not rely on a
ranking score system, strict adherence to eligibility criteria and complete
documentation remained essential for successful nomination.
Under the Skilled Worker Overseas stream, 6 candidates were
invited, with the lowest-ranked candidate having a score of 816. The
exceptionally high cutoff score highlighted the competitive and limited nature
of overseas invitations, where strong human capital factors, occupational
alignment with provincial demand, and credible provincial connections were
critical.
Of the 125 Letters of Advice to Apply issued in Draw #93, 10
were granted to candidates who declared a valid Express Entry profile number
and job seeker validation code. Express Entry-aligned nominations offered
selected applicants faster federal processing and a streamlined pathway to
permanent residence.
Expression of Interest Draw #93 demonstrated Manitoba’s
careful and selective provincial nomination strategy in mid-2020, balancing
support for in-province skilled workers with highly targeted overseas
recruitment. Monitoring ranking score trends remained important for candidates
preparing for future draws.
