Enhanced Nomination: MPNP

A Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program(MPNP) enhanced nomination is a provincial nomination that is connected to the federal Express Entry system. It allows eligible applicants to pursue permanent residence through Express Entry rather than through the separate non-Express Entry provincial nominee process.

An enhanced nomination can provide a major advantage. Once the nomination is confirmed and accepted through the applicant’s IRCC account, the applicant receives 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points. These points are added to the Express Entry profile and can significantly improve the applicant’s chances of receiving an
Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence.

What Is an Enhanced Nomination?

An enhanced MPNP nomination is a nomination issued through the Express Entry system. To be considered for an enhanced nomination, an applicant must be eligible for both an MPNP pathway and at least one federal Express Entry program.

Manitoba requires applicants seeking an enhanced nomination to create an Express Entry profile and provide their Express Entry profile number and Job Seeker Validation Code in their MPNP Expression of Interest (EOI). Manitoba may then issue the nomination through
the Express Entry system.

After Manitoba confirms the nomination, the applicant receives a message in their IRCC account and must accept or decline the nomination within the time allowed by IRCC. Once accepted, 600 additional CRS points are added to the profile.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Do I need an active Express Entry profile before seeking an enhanced nomination?

Yes. Applicants seeking an enhanced nomination should create an Express Entry profile first and provide the profile number and Job Seeker Validation Code in their MPNP EOI.

2. Does Manitoba automatically connect my nomination to my Express Entry profile?

No. The applicant must provide the correct Express Entry details to Manitoba and then accept the nomination in their IRCC account.

3. What happens after I accept an enhanced MPNP nomination?

Once accepted, 600 CRS points are added to the Express Entry profile, and the applicant may receive an ITA in a future draw.

4. What if my Express Entry profile expires while my MPNP application is pending?

The applicant should act quickly. They may need to create a new Express Entry profile and provide the new details to Manitoba.

5. Can TEER 4 or TEER 5 workers qualify for an enhanced MPNP nomination?

No, TEER 4 or 5 is not eligible for an enhanced nomination. The applicant must also qualify for Express Entry, which generally requires eligible work experience in TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3.
