PNP Draw Issues
787 ITAs with CRS Cut-Off of 782
On April 13,
2022, IRCC held Express Entry Draw #220, once again targeting candidates under
the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). In this round, 787 Invitations to Apply
(ITAs) were issued, and the minimum CRS score required was 782.
This draw showed a slight decrease in the number of ITAs compared to previous rounds, but the CRS cut-off remained high. That’s expected in PNP-only draws, as all invited candidates receive an automatic 600-point CRS boost from their provincial nomination.
The high CRS threshold suggests that provinces were nominating candidates with
strong core profiles—those with good language scores, education, and work
experience—on top of their nomination. It also shows that provincial
immigration streams were still a top priority in Canada’s overall immigration
plan during early 2022.
Why this mattered to applicants:
● PNP continued to be the most reliable route to PR
● Even candidates with moderate CRS scores could become
competitive
● Provinces were clearly driving Canada’s skilled
immigration selection
At A&M Canadian Immigration Law Corporation, we help
candidates:

✔ Prepare nomination and
Express Entry profiles
✔ Strategize for faster PR
outcomes
Draw 220 reinforced that in 2022, provincial nominations remained one of the strongest
and most consistent ways to secure Canadian permanent residence.
