PNP Draw Issues
829 ITAs with CRS Cut-Off of 772
On April 27,
2022, IRCC conducted Express Entry Draw #221, once again focusing on Provincial
Nominee Program (PNP) candidates. In this round, 829 Invitations to Apply
(ITAs) were issued, and the lowest CRS score required was 772.
This draw
showed a slight increase in invitations compared to the previous round, while
the CRS cut-off dropped modestly. As with all PNP-specific draws, the high CRS
score reflects the 600 additional points that provincial nominees receive
automatically.
Draw 221 demonstrated the continued confidence IRCC placed in provincial governments to identify skilled workers who fit regional labor market needs. Candidates selected through PNP streams often have job offers, Canadian work experience, or skills in shortage occupations.
For many
applicants, this round reaffirmed that PNP is not a backup option; rather, it’s a primary pathway to Canadian permanent
residence.
At A&M
Canadian Immigration Law Corporation, we support candidates by:
✔ Matching profiles with the right PNP streams
✔ Preparing strong provincial
and Express Entry applications
✔ Planning long-term PR
strategies
Draw #221 highlighted once again that provinces were leading Canada’s skilled immigration
selection in 2022.
