Express Entry Draw 229 – August 17, 2022

All-Program Draw Issues 2,250 ITAs with CRS Cut-Off of 525

On August 17, 2022, IRCC conducted Express Entry Draw #229, continuing the All-Program invitation rounds that had resumed in July. In this round, 2,250 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) were issued, and the lowest CRS score required dropped to 525.

This draw highlighted the steady expansion and normalization of Express Entry in 2022. With a larger number of ITAs and a declining CRS cut-off, mid-range candidates increasingly became competitive for Canadian permanent residence.

Draw #229 was significant because, The number of ITAs increased again from 2,000 to 2,250, showing IRCC’s confidence in processing capacity. CRS dropped further from 533 to 525, signaling a more accessible pool for skilled workers and candidates from all programs- FSW, CEC, FST had renewed opportunities to receive ITAs

For many, this round reinforced the importance of keeping Express Entry profiles up-to-date and monitoring CRS trends closely to take advantage of decreasing thresholds.
