The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) conducted
Expression of Interest (EOI) Draw #46 on June 21, 2018, issuing a total of 592
Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) across multiple immigration pathways.
Invitations were extended through the Skilled Worker in Manitoba, Skilled
Worker Overseas, and Express Entry sub-stream, reflecting Manitoba’s ongoing
strategy of selecting candidates who can contribute to the province’s workforce
and economic growth.
Skilled Worker in Manitoba
Under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream, 213 candidates
received invitations to apply for provincial nomination.
Lowest score invited: 522
This stream targets individuals who are already employed in
Manitoba. Candidates with stable employment, relevant professional experience,
and strong language proficiency generally rank higher within the Expression of
Interest pool.
Skilled Worker Overseas – Strategic
Recruitment
The Skilled Worker Overseas stream issued 115 invitations to
candidates who had been directly invited by the MPNP under strategic
recruitment initiatives.
Lowest score invited: 703
These invitations are aimed at skilled professionals
residing outside Canada who meet provincial labour market priorities and
demonstrate strong potential for successful settlement in Manitoba.
Skilled Worker Overseas – Manitoba
Connections
An additional 150 invitations were issued to overseas
applicants with strong ties to Manitoba, including having a close relative in
the province or previous study or work experience in Manitoba.
Lowest score invited: 579
To qualify under this category, candidates were required to have at least six months of recent experience in an occupation listed on Manitoba’s In-Demand Occupations List. Language requirements typically include minimum CLB 5, while regulated occupations require CLB 7 and compulsory trades require CLB 6.
Express Entry Sub-Stream
Through the Express Entry sub-stream, 114 LAAs were issued
to candidates with a valid Express Entry profile and job seeker validation
code.
Lowest score invited: 562
Candidates invited under this pathway were also required to have recent work
experience in an in-demand occupation in Manitoba. A nomination through this
stream provides 600 additional CRS points, increasing the likelihood of
receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence in Canada.
EOI Draw #46 showcased Manitoba’s multi-stream approach to
immigration, balancing the selection of skilled workers already in the
province, overseas candidates with Manitoba connections, and Express Entry
applicants. By targeting individuals with relevant skills, experience, and
provincial ties, Manitoba continues to strengthen its workforce while
addressing local labour market needs. Staying updated on draw results, score
trends, and eligibility criteria remains crucial for prospective applicants
under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program.
