Manitoba conducted Expression of Interest Draw #214 on April
9, 2024, issuing a total of 363 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) across
multiple Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) streams. This draw focused
on occupation-specific selections and strategic overseas recruitment to meet
Manitoba’s labour market needs.
Under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream, candidates
currently employed in Manitoba in high-demand occupations were considered.
These included positions identified based on Statistics Canada data, such as nurse aides, orderlies, patient service associates (NOC 33102), retail and wholesale trade managers (NOC 60020), and sub-major groups within general
construction trades (NOC 731). A total of 276 LAAs were issued in this
category, reflecting Manitoba’s targeted approach to addressing critical
workforce shortages.
The Skilled Worker Overseas stream invited 87 candidates under a strategic recruitment initiative, with the lowest-ranked candidate scoring 691. These invitations support Manitoba employers in attracting skilled
workers from outside the province to meet specific labour needs.
Notably, of the 363 LAAs issued in this draw, 81 were
granted to candidates who declared a valid Express Entry profile number and job
seeker validation code, providing a streamlined pathway from provincial
nomination to federal permanent residence.
This draw highlights Manitoba’s commitment to aligning
immigration selections with labour market priorities while offering
opportunities to both local and overseas skilled workers.
