Manitoba conducted Expression of Interest Draw #225 on
August 1, 2024, issuing a total of 203 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) under
the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). This draw focused on
occupation-specific selections within Manitoba and targeted overseas skilled
workers to support provincial labour market priorities.
Under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream, candidates
currently employed in Manitoba in high-demand occupations were considered.
Occupations included home support workers, caregivers, and related roles (NOC
44101), as well as positions under the broad category of health occupations. A
total of 145 LAAs were issued in this stream, reflecting Manitoba’s emphasis on
supporting essential healthcare roles.
For the Skilled Worker Overseas stream, 58 candidates were
invited under a strategic recruitment initiative, with the lowest-ranked
candidate scoring 724. These invitations help Manitoba employers attract
skilled professionals from outside the province to fill targeted labour
shortages.
Of the 203 LAAs issued in this draw, 29 were granted to
candidates who declared a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker
validation code, providing a pathway from provincial nomination to federal
permanent residence.
This draw underscores Manitoba’s approach to immigration,
combining local occupation-specific recruitment with strategic overseas
selection to meet the province’s workforce needs.
