Manitoba conducted Expression of Interest Draw #226 on
August 15, 2024, issuing a total of 292 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) under
the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). This draw focused on
international graduates and skilled workers overseas, supporting Manitoba’s
labour market and immigration priorities.
Under the International Education Stream, 252 candidates who
met eligibility requirements were invited, highlighting Manitoba’s commitment
to retaining international graduates contributing to the provincial workforce
and economy.
For the Skilled Worker Overseas stream, 40 candidates were
selected under a strategic recruitment initiative, with the lowest-ranked
candidate scoring 703. These invitations continue to help Manitoba employers
address specific labour shortages by attracting skilled workers from outside
the province.
Of the 292 LAAs issued in this draw, 37 were granted to
candidates who declared a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker
validation code, providing a pathway from provincial nomination to federal
permanent residence.
This draw demonstrates Manitoba’s strategic approach to
immigration, balancing retention of international graduates with targeted
overseas recruitment to meet provincial workforce needs.
