Manitoba conducted Expression of Interest Draw #224 on July
18, 2024, issuing a total of 161 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) under the
Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). This draw focused on international
graduates and skilled workers overseas, supporting Manitoba’s labour market and
immigration priorities.
Under the International Education Stream, 109 candidates who
met eligibility requirements were invited, reflecting Manitoba’s ongoing
efforts to retain international graduates contributing to the provincial
workforce.
For the Skilled Worker Overseas stream, 52 candidates were
selected under a strategic recruitment initiative, with the lowest-ranked
candidate scoring 645. These invitations help Manitoba employers attract
skilled workers from outside the province to address targeted labour shortages.
Of the 161 LAAs issued in this draw, 16 were granted to
candidates who declared a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker
validation code, providing a pathway from provincial nomination to federal
permanent residence.
This draw demonstrates Manitoba’s strategic approach to
immigration, balancing the retention of local talent with overseas recruitment
to meet provincial workforce needs.
