Manitoba conducted Expression of Interest Draw #221 on June
21, 2024, issuing a total of 163 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) under the
Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). This draw focused on international
graduates and skilled workers overseas, reflecting Manitoba’s ongoing
commitment to supporting both local talent and targeted global recruitment.
Under the International Education Stream, 111 candidates who
met eligibility requirements were invited. This highlights Manitoba’s strategy
to retain international graduates who have integrated into the provincial
workforce and are contributing to the economy.
For the Skilled Worker Overseas stream, 52 candidates were
selected under a strategic recruitment initiative, with the lowest-ranked
candidate scoring 721. This stream helps Manitoba employers address specific
labour shortages by attracting skilled workers from outside the province.
Of the 163 LAAs issued in this draw, 31 were granted to
candidates who declared a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker
validation code, providing a direct pathway from provincial nomination to
federal permanent residence.
This draw demonstrates Manitoba’s balanced approach to
immigration, combining retention of international graduates with strategic
overseas recruitment to meet provincial workforce needs.
