Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program Draw – May 2, 2024

Manitoba conducted Expression of Interest Draw #217 on May 2, 2024, issuing a total of 941 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) across multiple Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) streams. This draw focused on occupation-specific selections, international graduates, and targeted overseas recruitment to meet Manitoba’s evolving labour market needs.

Under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream, candidates currently employed in Manitoba in occupations identified as high-demand were considered. This included nurse aides, orderlies, and patient service associates (NOC 33102), retail and wholesale trade managers (NOC 60020), general construction trades (NOC 731), as well as roles within administrative, financial, supply chain, and technical occupations (NOC 12, 14, 22). A total of 488 LAAs were issued in this category, reflecting Manitoba’s targeted approach to filling critical workforce gaps.

The International Education Stream issued 427 LAAs to candidates who met eligibility requirements, highlighting Manitoba’s commitment to retaining international graduates who have already integrated into the provincial workforce.

For the Skilled Worker Overseas stream, 26 candidates were invited under a strategic recruitment initiative, with the lowest-ranked candidate scoring 796. This stream continues to support Manitoba employers in attracting skilled workers from outside the province.

Of the 941 LAAs issued in this draw, 181 were granted to candidates who declared a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code, providing a streamlined pathway from provincial nomination to federal permanent residence.

This draw underscores Manitoba’s balanced approach to immigration, combining local occupation-specific recruitment, retention of international graduates, and targeted overseas selection.
