Manitoba conducted Expression of Interest Draw #219 on May
23, 2024, issuing a total of 253 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) across
multiple Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) streams. This draw focused
on candidates with close family ties in Manitoba, international graduates, and
targeted overseas recruitment.
Under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream, candidates who
declared a Manitoba supporter who is a close relative were considered. These
supporters were required to be Canadian permanent residents or citizens,
established residents of Manitoba, and residing in the province for at least
one year. A total of 121 LAAs were issued in this category, with the
lowest-ranked candidate scoring 782.
The International Education Stream invited 93 candidates who
met eligibility requirements, highlighting Manitoba’s commitment to retaining
international graduates contributing to the provincial workforce.
For the Skilled Worker Overseas stream, 39 candidates were
selected under a strategic recruitment initiative, with the lowest-ranked
candidate scoring 688. This stream continues to support Manitoba employers in
attracting skilled workers from outside the province.
Of the 253 LAAs issued in this draw, 29 were granted to
candidates who declared a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker
validation code, providing a pathway from provincial nomination to federal
permanent residence.
This draw demonstrates Manitoba’s balanced approach to
immigration, prioritizing family connections, local education, and targeted
international recruitment to meet provincial priorities.
