On February 1,
2024, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held Express Entry
Draw #282, issuing 7,000 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) under the French language
proficiency category. This marks the first French category-based draw of 2024,
highlighting Canada’s continued focus on strengthening its Francophone
immigration targets. The minimum CRS score for this round was 365.
Category-based
draws for French-speaking candidates play a key role in supporting Canada’s
linguistic diversity and addressing labour market needs in both Francophone and
bilingual communities. With a significantly lower CRS cut-off compared to
general draws, eligible candidates with strong French abilities had an
excellent opportunity to receive an invitation.
For applicants
who can demonstrate proficiency in French, this draw reinforces the value of
language skills in enhancing overall competitiveness within the Express Entry
system.
