Manitoba conducted Expression of Interest Draw #190 on
August 24, 2023, issuing a total of 623 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) under
the Skilled Worker in Manitoba, International Education Stream, and Skilled
Worker Overseas streams.
Under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream, 256 candidates in occupation-specific selections were invited. Eligible profiles included
those currently employed in Manitoba in occupations identified with high labour
needs based on Statistics Canada data. The National Occupational Classification
(NOC) 2021 major groups considered were 73 – General trades, 74 – Mail and
message distribution, other transport equipment operators and related
maintenance workers, and 75 – Helpers and labourers and other transport drivers,
operators and labourers. All other eligible profiles not selected in the
occupation-specific stream were also considered, with 250 LAAs issued. The
lowest-ranked candidates scored 612 in the occupation-specific selection and
646 in the general pool.
The International Education Stream issued 63 LAAs to
candidates meeting eligibility requirements, supporting international graduates
contributing to Manitoba’s workforce.
For the Skilled Worker Overseas stream, 54 candidates were
invited under strategic recruitment initiatives, with the lowest-ranked
candidate scoring 724.
Of the 623 LAAs issued in this draw, 178 were granted to
candidates who declared a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker
validation code, providing a pathway from provincial nomination to federal
permanent residence.
