Manitoba conducted Expression of Interest Draw #168 on
February 9, 2023, issuing a total of 308 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program. This draw continued the
province’s steady approach to selecting skilled candidates across in-province,
graduate, and overseas pathways.
A total of 221 LAAs were issued under the Skilled Worker in
Manitoba stream, with the lowest-ranked candidate scoring 720. This reflects
Manitoba’s continued emphasis on nominating individuals who are already working
and established in the province.
The International Education Stream invited 55 candidates,
supporting Manitoba’s goal of retaining international graduates who have
completed their education in the province and are contributing to the local
workforce.
Under the Skilled Worker Overseas stream, 32 candidates received LAAs, with the lowest-ranked candidate invited having a score of 709.
These invitations supported Manitoba’s targeted overseas recruitment to address
labour market needs.
Of the 308 LAAs issued in this draw, 33 were granted to
candidates who declared a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker
validation code, enabling a faster transition from provincial nomination to
permanent residence.
This draw highlights Manitoba’s balanced immigration
strategy in early 2023, combining workforce retention, graduate support, and
strategic international recruitment.
