Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducted the first
Express Entry draw inviting only those with Canadian work experience under a
new category on March 5. In the draw, 250 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) were sent
out, with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 429.
The new category includes high level roles such as senior managers,
physicians, and researchers, which are all important to spurring economic
growth, strengthening health care, and driving innovation. By inviting
candidates with Canadian work experience in these roles, IRCC is putting a focus
on those who have already shown that they can make a successful transition into
the Canadian workforce.
