The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) conducted
Expression of Interest (EOI) Draw #39 on January 11, 2018, inviting a total of
291 candidates to apply for provincial nomination. Invitations were distributed
across multiple immigration pathways, including Skilled Worker in Manitoba,
Skilled Worker Overseas, and the Express Entry sub-stream. This draw reflected
Manitoba’s continued focus on selecting candidates who possess the skills and
experience needed to support the province’s labour market.
Skilled Worker in Manitoba
Under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream, 119 Letters of
Advice to Apply (LAAs) were issued to candidates currently working in the
province.
Lowest score invited: 520
This stream targets individuals with established ties to
Manitoba through employment. Applicants with stable jobs in the province,
relevant professional experience, and strong language proficiency generally
have stronger positions within the EOI ranking system.
Skilled Worker Overseas – Strategic
Recruitment
The Skilled Worker Overseas stream issued 17 invitations to
candidates who had been directly invited by the MPNP through strategic
recruitment initiatives.
- Lowest score invited: 815
These invitations were extended to applicants outside Canada
who demonstrated strong potential to contribute to Manitoba’s economy.
Successful candidates typically possessed strong educational backgrounds,
skilled work experience, and connections to Manitoba that aligned with
provincial workforce needs.
Express Entry Sub-Stream
Through the Express Entry sub-stream, 155 LAAs were issued
to candidates with an active Express Entry profile and job seeker validation
code.
● Lowest score
invited: 565
To qualify under this pathway, candidates were required to
have at least six months of recent work experience in an occupation listed on
Manitoba’s In-Demand Occupations List. This stream allows Manitoba to nominate
candidates already in the federal Express Entry system who meet provincial
labour market priorities.
EOI Draw #39 highlighted Manitoba’s strategy of selecting
candidates from both within the province and abroad who possess skills aligned
with labour market demands. By inviting individuals through the Skilled Worker
and Express Entry pathways, Manitoba continues to strengthen its workforce
through targeted immigration selection. Monitoring draw results, score
thresholds, and eligibility requirements remains important for candidates
planning to pursue immigration through the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program.
