The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) conducted
Expression of Interest (EOI) Draw #55 on December 20, 2018, issuing a total of
492 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) across multiple streams. Invitations were
distributed through the Skilled Worker in Manitoba, International Education
Stream, Skilled Worker Overseas – Strategic Recruitment, and Skilled Worker
Overseas/Express Entry pathways, reflecting Manitoba’s continued strategy to
attract skilled candidates who can meet provincial labour market needs.
Skilled Worker in Manitoba
Under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream, 106 candidates
received invitations to apply for provincial nomination.

Candidates with steady employment, relevant work experience, and strong
language skills tend to rank higher in the Expression of Interest system.
International Education Stream
The International Education Stream (IES) issued 35
invitations to eligible Manitoba graduates.
This stream does not operate on a ranking system. Candidates
must meet eligibility criteria, including graduation from a recognized Manitoba
post-secondary institution and qualifying employment. Successful applicants
demonstrate strong ties to the province and readiness to contribute to the
local workforce.
Skilled Worker Overseas – Strategic
Recruitment
The Skilled Worker Overseas – Strategic Recruitment stream
issued 44 invitations to candidates directly invited by the MPNP.

These candidates were selected through Manitoba’s targeted
overseas recruitment efforts, focusing on skilled professionals with
qualifications aligned with provincial labour market priorities.
Skilled Worker Overseas / Express Entry
An additional 307 invitations were issued to candidates with
a valid Express Entry profile and job seeker validation code or who had strong
Manitoba connections, such as a close relative in the province or previous
study or work experience in Manitoba.
Eligibility requirements: At least six months of recent
experience in an occupation on Manitoba’s In-Demand Occupations List, and a
minimum CLB 5, with higher benchmarks for regulated occupations (CLB 7) or
compulsory trades (CLB 6).
EOI Draw #55 demonstrated Manitoba’s comprehensive
immigration strategy, selecting skilled workers already in the province,
international graduates, and overseas candidates with strong connections or
Express Entry profiles. This multi-stream approach supports the province’s
workforce needs and economic growth. Prospective applicants should monitor draw
trends, score thresholds, and eligibility criteria to plan their Manitoba
immigration pathway effectively.
