Manitoba conducted Expression of Interest Draw #187 on July
27, 2023, issuing a total of 609 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) under the
Skilled Worker in Manitoba, International Education Stream, and Skilled Worker
Overseas streams.
Under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream, 335 candidates in occupation-specific selections were invited. Eligible profiles included
those currently employed in Manitoba in occupations identified with high labour
needs based on Statistics Canada data. The National Occupational Classification
(NOC) 2021 major groups considered were 62 – Retail sales and service
supervisors and specialized occupations in sales and services, 64 – Sales and
service representatives and other customer and personal services occupations,
and 65 – Sales and service support occupations. All other eligible profiles not
selected in the occupation-specific stream were also considered, with 202 LAAs issued. The lowest-ranked candidates scored 614 in the occupation-specific
selection and 649 in the general pool.
The International Education Stream issued 51 LAAs to
eligible candidates meeting the program requirements.
For the Skilled Worker Overseas stream, 21 candidates were
invited under strategic recruitment initiatives, with the lowest-ranked
candidate scoring 714.
Of the 609 LAAs issued in this draw, 106 were granted to
candidates who declared a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker
validation code, providing a pathway from provincial nomination to federal
permanent residence.
